Grandmother's Dream uses graduated fabric colors to create a beautiful quilt with blocks based on the Trip Around the World quilt. The first class is an hour long to discuss fabric selection, look at pictures of completed quilts and plan your quilt. Seminole Piecing Series, Debi Zander,$14 per session, or $39 for all 3 sessions
Monday June 11, 18, and 25, 10 am – 12 pm
Once only used as garment decoration by the Seminole Indians of Florida, basic strip piecing skills are used to form distinctive band designs. Several band designs can easily be combined to form a quilt or used individually as a border. These three classes of simpler designs are the first in a series that will become more complex with each series. Excellent for beginning and experienced quilters, first session will cover syncopated piano keys, harlequin, and tumbling fish.
Youth Sewing Class, Debi Zander, $65

This short series of classes will introduce young girls, aged 10 and up, to the world of sewing. Students will need their own sewing supplies and sewing machines. This is a five part series of classes including: introductory sewing skills, raw-edged belt, flange pillow, and a slouchy shoulder bag. Good quality sewing machines are available to rent for a small fee at Love to Sew.

Quilting 101, Ann Anderson, $80
Thurs., August 23 – September 20, 11 am –2 pm OR 6 pm – 9 pm
This twenty-one hour class meets 3 hours a week for 5 weeks. The class covers machine piecing, strip piecing, piecing triangles, and curved piecing. It also covers hand appliqué, hand quilting, and quilt binding. At the end of the class, the student will have a completed four-block wall hanging. Bring a sack lunch.
